Does someone know how to determine the difference between a '70 Panther 634 MOD and a standard '70 Panther 634? (other than 'mod' hood decals of course). Does the body tag read different? Or something externally identifiable about the motor?

Hi, I'm not sure on the '70 models, but the '71s had an "M" added to the model number stamping. I believe the '70s were the same, or maybe had "EXT" or "MOD" added. The only external differences on the engine were the dual carbs and the "MOD" sticker on the air shrouding or fan housing. The only difference between a standard model and the MOD/EXT models was the internal engine (porting) changes. The chassis were all the same. Also remember, this info is for the "production" standard/MOD/EXT models. The sleds the factory backed guys raced were often different in a number of ways. Later .......
